November 17th is Robin Redbreast Day, and we’d like Redbreast fans to get involved. Just like our approach to birds – the more, the merrier.
What is Robin Redbreast Day?
We wouldn’t be here without Robin Redbreast – who appeared through our Chairman’s binocular lenses in 1912, and inspired the name of our whiskey. So, we created Robin Redbreast Day in 2021 as a way to raise money and awareness for the common bird. So far we’ve raised nearly €150,000, and our goal is to raise another €100,000 this year.
Nearly half of all global bird species are in decline, and the time to change their fortune is now. That’s why we created Robin Redbreast Day to help support our joint mission with BirdLife International to keep the common bird common.
We’re proud to have Chris O’Dowd back as our Robin Redbreast Day ambassador, helping raise much needed funds and awareness for the common bird. We couldn’t have asked for a better wingman, and his chemistry with Robin is undeniable.

How Will Robin Redbreast Day Help The Common Bird?
This is a day about ensuring birds like the Chaffinch, Blackbird, Starling, Barn Swallow, Cardinal, Wren and the Blue Tit maintain their “common” bird status. To prevent such birds from becoming endangered, we have to think ahead. Our efforts will help safeguard habitats, educate, and monitor behaviour.
And helping out is as simple as lending your eyes in order to lend a hand.
We’ve partnered once again with celebrated Irish actor and Redbreast fan Chris O’Dowd as our Robin Redbreast Day ambassador. If you’ve ever found the collective names of different bird species a bit perplexing, this video will be right up your alley – and it’ll raise money for the common bird at the same time.
Every time this quick and quirky video is liked or shared, a 25 cent donation to BirdLife International will be made on behalf of Redbreast, as we hope to reach our €30,000 donation goal. So simply give it a watch and a like, or pass it on to others… and let’s get those and donations flying. Terms and conditions can be found here.
The Redbreast Bird Feeder Bottle: The Red Remix
We’re thrilled to announce a new Redbreast Bird Feeder Bottle designed in partnership with BirdLife International to help keep the common bird common. Even better, you’ll have a bird feeder that will help you lend a hand during the tough winter months.
Designed alongside Birdlife International, the bottle of Redbreast 12 features a red-finish copper casing that slides off the bottle and can be filled with bird feed and hung from a branch. So there’s something for your shelf, and something for your garden.
With your help, you can be part of this critical initiative, supporting BirdLife International and their ongoing efforts.
So, whether it’s buying an incredibly unique bottle or just liking or sharing a quick and quirky video, there are different ways to help out.
